Nå er det tjue prosent elbiler på norske veier

Nå har det akkurat skjedd. Vi har rundet en andel på tjue prosent elbiler i den norske bilparken.

Syns du det er mye? Ja, det har gått raskt de siste årene. Syns du det er lite? Ja, da er det fordi nyhetene ofte handler om at elbiler dominerer nybilsalget, og da er det lett å tro at vi har kommet lengre med den totale norske bilparken.

Norge ligger langt foran

Det er ikke lenge siden Norge feiret ti prosent elbilandel av alle registrerte personbiler. Det skjedde i mars 2020. Det tok i underkant av tre år å gå fra 10 til 20 prosent.

Utviklingen fra 0 til 10 prosent gikk langt tregere. Det tok nærmere 10 år.

– Det er et fascinerende eventyr vi er med på her i Norge, sier Christina Bu, generalsekretær i Norsk elbilforening. Snøballen har rullet raskere og raskere, og flere og flere flotte elektriske bilmodeller ruller ut på norske veier.

Nå er generalsekretæren i Elbilforeningen spent på hvor lang tid det tar før 30 prosent av bilparken er elektrisk:

– Målet som Stortinget har vedtatt, er et utslippsfritt nybilsalg i 2025, og fortsetter vi å bare selge elbiler, så gå det fort oppover med elbilandelen på veiene også. Overgangen fra forurensende biler til elbiler er avgjørende for å kutte klimagassutslippene fra veitrafikken.

Elbilforeningen anslår at det vil ta i underkant av to år før vi når 30 prosent elbiler i bilbestanden.

Vi må ha med hele landet

Elbil var lenge et storbyfenomen, og med langvarig høyt elbilsalg har byer som Bergen og Oslo oppnådd en stor andel elbiler på veien. I Oslo er andelen på 33,2 prosent og det gamle fylket Hordaland har oppnådd 29,3 prosent. 

– Den nye trenden de siste årene er den gode utviklingen i distriktsfylkene, noe som skyldes at de nye elbilene har blitt bedre, fått lengre rekkevidde og at ladenettverket har blitt utvidet.  

Derfor ligger nå elbilandelen i nybilsalget på over femti prosent i alle fylker. Likevel minner Christina Bu om at den positive trenden blant nye biler bruker tid på å forplante seg i bestanden. På tross av at 1 av 2 nye biler i Finnmark nå er elbiler, utgjør elbiler bare 4,7 prosent av den totale bilparken. 

Nye elbilavgifter, bortfall av milørabatter og dyrtid kan bremse utviklingen

Statsbudsjettet for elbil i 2023 er ingen lystig lesning. Alle elbiler blir dyrere, og det blir mindre lønnsomt å skaffe seg en elbil som firmabil. Nå er det spennendeå følge utviklingen videre. 

– Det er høyst forståelig om flere velger å kjøre dieselbilen sin litt lengre enn planlagt – både på grunn av prisstigning, høye renter og innføring av avgifter på elbil. Likevel håper og tror vi de fleste skjønner at det er elbil som gjelder, om man skal skifte bil, sier Christina Bu. Hun minner om at hver gang en fossilbil erstattes med en elbil, kutter man om lag to tonn CO2-utslipp i året.
