Microsoft har nå kunngjort at Windows 11 blir lansert for kvalifiserte PC-er 5. oktober, altså om en drøy måned.
Har du en Windows 10-PC som møter systemkravene til Windows 11, vil den nye Windows-versjonen rulles ut som en gratis oppgradering. Nye PC-er som blir solgt etter 5. oktober, vil også komme med Windows 11 forhåndsinstallert.
Ikke alle vil få tilgang til oppgraderingen på selve lanseringsdatoen. Microsoft vil rulle ut oppgraderingen gradvis, der kvalfiiserte enheter prioriteres først. Microsoft forklarer prosessen i et blogginnlegg:
Gratis-oppgraderingen til Windows 11 begynner 5. oktober og vil skje i faser, der fokuset er på kvalitet. Vi har lært mye fra Windows 10-lanseringen, og vi ønsker å være sikre på at vi tilbyr dere den best mulige opplevelsen. Det betyr at nye, kvalifiserte enheter vil få tilbud om oppgraderingen først. Oppgraderingen vil deretter rulles ut over tid til in-market-enheter, basert på modeller som vurderer maskinvare-kvalifikasjon, stabilitet, alder på enheten og andre faktorer som påvirker opplevelsen av oppgraderingen. Vi forventer at alle kvalifiserte enheter får tilbud om gratisoppgraderingen til Windows 11 innen vi har kommet halvveis ut i 2022. Hvis du har en Windows 10-PC som er kvalifisert for oppgraderingen, vil Windows Update varsle deg når oppgraderingen blir tilgjengelig. Du kan også sjekke om Windows 11 er klar for din PC ved å gå til Innstillinger –> Windows Update –> Se etter oppdateringer.
